So today I turn 30 and instead of sulking in the fact that my 20's are forever gone I decided to find all the great things that will come with my 30's and I found this article from Andy Rooney (some editing has taken place for you mom)
As I grow in age, I value women who are over 30 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
1. A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?". She doesn't care what you think.
2. If a woman over 30 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.
3. A woman over 30 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of 30 give a darn what you might think about her or what she's doing.
4. Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.
5. Women over 30 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.
6. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
After reading this I had a good laugh and realized that it is true, I might just be entering into the best decade of my life. I decided to make a list of one thing for each age that I will never have to do again now that I am a real "grown-up"
I will never have to:
1. Cry about everything. OK, so I still did this until I was about 12 years old.
2. Be the baby in the family.
3. Wear home made clothes again.
4. Follow princess Robyn around with her foot pillow and crown.
5. Crawl through the hole in the chicken coupe because of a certain someone that will remain nameless. But it starts with an M and rhymes with felony. Hey at least I didn't get shoved into a barrel with a chicken right.
6. Play the piano at a recital again.
7. Have an arm tickling contest.. By the way it was just an excuse for Marci to get a free massage.... I was such a SUCKER!
8. Milk a goat again.... I hope.
9. Ride the bus to school again.
10. Cry because Billy was teasing or just looking in my direction.
11. Share one bathroom with four sisters.
12. Go through puberty.
13. Play a saxophone in the school band.
14. Attend Junior High.
15. Work for $2.80 an hour at Magic Waters.
16. Work at Arctic Circle again.
17. Get in a car with a teenage driver after midnight.
18. Have a terrible room mate again. (Beau doesn't count I picked him)
19. Squeeze into a wedding dress again.
20. Be a newlywed again.
21. Be the only person in the world that can't gamble but has a 1 1/2 year old.
22. Be the only sibling with a spouse.
23. Take Brenden to daycare again.
24. Pretend like I enjoy jeeping.
25. Watch another man flick, yes there is such a thing. I'm secure, he can go with anyone he wants to.
26. Send another brother on a mission. Only sons.
27. Give into peer pressure and break into the neighbors house.
28. Go on the White Roller Coaster again.
29. Worry about not having an eternal family. (Yes Michael is there too)
30. Share my boys with another girl...yet.

I love this post! I have to agree with a few things... white roller coaster... HATE it! And I dont have to pretend like I like jeeping, or bashing peoples mailboxes in the middle of the night! I love all the fam pictures! Happy Birthday!
P.s. I thought you were the coolest when you worked at magic waters! And WTH is Billy doing to that poor cat?!
What a great post! I'm going to have to share your "woman over 30" stuff with my sisters. Sheesh, I just want to copycat everything you do!
I loved all of the pics! I also realized that I've never seen any of your wedding pics before. We should pull them out sometime.
And I can't believe that I forgot to wish you a "Happy Birthday!" Welcome to the wonderful world of being 30.
Felony here, just having a good laugh at this, your latest blog. Happy Birthday!
Dude, I love this post. Jason turned 30 in July and I am going to make him read it. I thought it was so sweet when you worked at Magic Waters. You always had those cool sandal tan lines on your feet.
Loved this!!! The photos are priceless!!! Happy 30th Nickole:o)
Loved this! Too fun! Happy Birthday!
That is pretty funny...you were quite gullable (sp?) when you were a kid, but I do feel bad about making you cary Princess Robyn's foot pillow. That was just mean. Now we get to watch you with your kids as they cry about lost shoes! Ahh priceless! M
